My name is Emily, and I am currently studying Sustainability at DIS Copenhagen for the spring 2020 semester. My core course is Sustainable Food: Production and Consumption, and I am also living in the Outdoors LLC.
I am originally from the DC area, but I attend school at Emory University, where I have a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Theater Studies. Academically, am passionate about sustainable agriculture and policy, pollinator conservation, urban gardening, and finding the best ways to fight climate change. Outside of academics, I love the arts (both performing and visual), as well as doing outdoor activities and reading.
My goal while abroad is to find out what Denmark is doing to make the country more sustainable (and what they can improve on), and figure out which of those methods are transferrable to the US. I hope to explore everything from Copenhagen’s rich cafe culture to hidden-gem thrift stores. By reading this blog, I hope you will be able to learn a bit more about Copenhagen and have some helpful resources if you decide to visit (or study at DIS yourself).
